The last 19 years were spent working in a multi-agency environment within the public protection/family support unit. The last 10 years as a dedicated child abuse detective within the unit.
Nicola has been an officer in the case of many complex investigations into serious allegations of a sexual and physical abuse nature, against young children and young people. She has dealt with the investigation from the first report to successful prosecution at Crown Court.
Director Jan Ratcliffe has extensive experience working in the education arena and safeguarding field.
Jan has over 25 years of teaching experience. She has taught in areas such as Chester, inner-city Newcastle and Partington. She has spent a number of years in charge of safeguarding and child protection as part of her role as Deputy Headteacher and Acting Headteacher in primary schools in Newcastle Upon Tyne and Trafford.
Jan has had experience in dealing with children who have made disclosures within the school setting and because of this, working with multi-agencies such as the police and social services to try and resolve the issues raised.
Their experience whilst working within the police and teaching profession has helped form their passionate held conviction that fellow professionals need to receive the training that sees them equipped with the correct up to date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation in order to ensure that children are kept as safe as possible.
Their courses are aimed at delivering a hands-on approach to training at all levels, for staff, governors, parents, and children within the school setting and other professional establishments linked to children.
All courses are compliant with current legislation, policy, and procedure, including Working Together to Safeguard Children 2022 and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023. They have always worked closely with Trafford Safeguarding Board and also take into consideration other Local Safeguarding Children Board requirements.
